5 things to do in Utrecht with kids- secret from a photographer
During the last weeks that we are enjoying this spring/summer weather, I think about visiting nice places with two little girls so we can go out of the routine and create new experiences. Since a long time ago I always find gems in this country because my work as a photographer with families allows this. Today I’m gonna tell you about some fun activities in Utrecht and the nicest spots in this city.
The city center
To start, the center of the city has some nice shops and easy walk streets around Oudergracht. One of the shops I enjoy the most is
De Utrechtse Kinderboekwinkel. In this bookstore they do have all the kid’s dreams, also something I love is that Saturdays they read some books.
The next stop is the Dom Tower, beautiful and in the center too. Recently it is open again, and it’s possible to visit the top of the tower to enjoy the views. super highly recommended, also I promise your kids will sleep like angels after the 465 steps (there is no lift)
If you ever thought about seeing the city from the canals, this is the one! Paddle surf may be more difficult with kids but for sure you can have a good laugh with canoes and this is my personal recommendation to rent one: Canoe rental Utrecht
I do recommend you also the area of Mariaplaats, you can find some nice terraces over there. Now let’s go to the nicest park in the city: Wilhelminapark. In this park, my girls can run and play hide and seek eternally. At this moment is when I take advantage to take some pictures of them. Is a beautiful park to spend the day with a picnic plan. A must-see in your Utrecht list.
Nature location

If you are more in the wild side, check this nature location: Fort Rhijnauwen, great for a hike with kids because is really accessible. We enjoy visiting this place during the spring.
The top of the plan is to end up at the pancakes restaurant, who doesn’t love pancakes?
Would you like to discover other parts of the city? Let me know and I will add more spots! Thanks to my job as a photographer I’m always adding nice locations around The Netherlands.
