A Personal Story in the Tulip Fields
This session in the tulip fields of Amsterdam–Lisse means so much to me. At that time, I was about to give birth to my second daughter. Therefore, I took my oldest daughter to the tulip fields to capture a portrait of her before she became a big sister.
For both of us, it was an emotional moment.
For two years, she had been my whole world. I gave her all my time, my energy, and my love. However, I knew that soon everything would change. I wondered how it would feel to love another child as deeply as I loved her. In some way, that thought made me feel sad.
She would no longer be my only baby. My kisses would not be only for her. My hugs would not be only for her. And yet, my heart would grow.
Because of that, I wanted to preserve this moment — just her, as my only little daughter.
The Beauty of the Tulip Fields in Amsterdam
We chose the tulip fields near Keukenhof, and it felt like standing in an ocean of color. When I saw the endless rows of flowers for the first time, I could hardly believe my eyes. It was pure nature. In fact, it was one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen.
The vibrant colors, the soft spring light, and the open landscapes create a dreamlike setting. As a result, the tulip fields are perfect for timeless portraits filled with emotion.
Important Information About the Tulip Season
However, each year is a little different. Currently, you can only access certain tulip fields if you book a visit to a private farm or schedule a professional photoshoot.
In my previous post, I explained in detail how to plan the best tulip field experience. Most importantly, remember that the season lasts only a few weeks per year. Usually, it begins in mid-April and ends quickly.
Therefore, planning ahead is essential.
